Aidan Macdonald is a human rights activist and community organizer based in Toronto. He brings to his work a commitment to social and economic justice, and a belief that change can be achieved through collective action. After graduating from Carleton University with a BA in Human Rights and Political Science, Aidan spent five months in Ramallah, Palestine, volunteering with the Stop the Wall Campaign, where he worked on international solidarity and outreach activities.
He returned to Carleton in 2010 to complete an MA in Political Economy, with his research focus being a critical analysis of the economic development program that is currently being implemented in Palestine. For the past several years, Aidan has been active with the Ontario Public Interest Research Group, working on a campaign to promote ethical investment practices on campus. He has also been involved in labour organizing, with a particular interest in organizing with migrant workers, and has served as the human rights representative for his union local.
