For over nine years, Human Rights Internet (HRI) worked in conjunction with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to send Canadian youths (under 30) on international internships. The six-month placement with international non-governmental organizations allowed interns to gain work experience in the field of human rights, health, education, legal systems and culture. These opportunities built strong partnerships with developing country organizations, both assisting the organizations in their work, while also helping participants develop essential skills, knowledge, and experience. Many of our former interns have found careers in the development sector, and network with HRI on projects and initiatives of mutual interest.
In 2013, HRI’s International Internships program came to a close. Stay tuned for more information on other international internship opportunities!
